What we got wrong, and the day we fixed it.

We publish utility rates, export compensation rules, and incentive status. Those move. A tariff gets revised, a commission decision lands, a credit changes, and a sentence that was accurate when we wrote it stops being accurate.

When that happens we fix the page and log it here with the date. This list covers material corrections only — a factual claim a reader could have acted on. Copy edits and typo fixes do not get an entry.

Spot something wrong? Send it to us through our contact page and tell us which page it is on. How we research and verify what we publish is described on our about page.

    Correction log

    1. /solar-savings/bakersfield

Corrected the page title and body: Bakersfield is served predominantly by PG&E, not SCE.

Why: A utility-identity audit found the page named the wrong serving utility.

    2. Sacramento and NEM pages

Clarified that SMUD sits outside the CPUC net-billing decision but pays a flat export rate, not full retail.

Why: The earlier framing could have implied a better deal than SMUD actually offers.

    3. Multiple articles

Corrected statements about the status of the federal residential clean energy credit across 42 pages.

Why: Two pages on the site made contradictory claims. Both were re-checked against the statute and IRS guidance.

    4. Site-wide

Fixed the header eligibility link, which did not work on any page except the homepage.

Why: The link was missing a leading slash, so it resolved to an anchor on whatever page the reader was already on.
