The contractor signs in or registers with SolarAPP+, submits the design for pre-approval, pays the $25 processing fee and downloads the approved plans. Before applying to the City, it needs a Sunnyvale business license.

The City permit is filed in E-OneStop Online Services as a Photovoltaic (SolarAPP+) permit, with the approved plans uploaded and the fee paid; the contractor then prints the permit card for the inspections and requests the inspection in the same account when the work is done.
